I’ve also been clearing the PRAM/NVRAM during this whole debacle. Same thing happened when trying to boot with Safe Mode. Then the progress bar got stuck halfway there upon booting. Update: Used the terminal in Recovery Mode to delete a bunch of Wacom files. If/when the problem is eventually fixed, should I download the same version of drivers and try again (after backing up, of course), or should I try an older version of the drivers (and if so, which version)? I’ve looked online for this problem but most of the posts are from 2019 with a different driver version and I’m not sure if any of the proposed solutions actually worked. Planning to try using Target Mode from a family member’s Mac to remove the Wacom files and see if that does anything.Īny help at all would be greatly appreciated. My internet runs at 3 mbps on a good day and I didn’t do a new backup before installing the driver (dumb, I know, I thought it would be fine, and I’ve learned my lesson) so I’m hoping to avoid all of that if possible.ĭid a verbose boot but there doesn’t seem anything odd in the report. If I can’t find any other solution I’m going to reinstall my OS but if there’s any other option before that please let me know. MacBook Pro 13” late 2011 running High Sierra 10.13.6. Tried rebooting normally several times by holding the power button. I’ve tried rebooting to safe mode twice and it still won’t go past the progress bar. The installation rebooted my computer and now it’s stuck on the loading screen with a full progress bar. I set it all up, went to download the driver (6.3.39-1). I reinstalled the drivers and everything is working fine now. It seems to prove that something with the drivers was causing the issue. Deleted them all and the laptop booted up, no problem. SOLUTION: Good news! I went back into the Recovery Mode terminal and did a search for all files with the keywords "Wacom" or "tablet." I'd missed a few the first time around.
